Adoption Process:
If you see a dog you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application located here------> Adoption Application
Applications must be completed in full, partially filled out ones will not be considered. Applications will not be considered if you have not read the dogs bio in full and do not meet the requirements for that specific dog.
Once we receive the completed application we will contact your references. Once approved we will contact you to set up a visit with the dog(s).
****Please do not show up without a scheduled appointment or approved application. All dog viewing is by appointment only as we work other jobs as well.*****
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
-Primary applicants must be 21 or older and provide photo ID upon adoption
-Please read through a dogs entire bio before applying so you know that you fit the specific needs and requirements for that dogs new home,-Dogs living in the home currently that are over 8 months old must be spayed/neutered unless medically unable.-Please do not apply for a dog if you are unable to adopt within a week. We are unable to hold dogs due to our small size. Dogs coming into us are coming from local shelters that are euthanizing for space so holding a dog for an extended period does not allow another dog to be saved.
Animals may not be adopted as a "gift" for someone unless all family members are aware of the adoption and meet the animal before the adoption takes place
Dogs must not be left crated for more than 8 hours.
If you have a current pet, they must be up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered. This includes cats. Dogs must have annual vet exams. If renting, approval from the landlord is required to keep the dog on the premises. If you have a current dog, your pet must meet the new pet before the adoption is finalized to make sure they will be compatible to live together. You will bring your dog to our facility for the meet. We cannot travel to you.If you adopt from Fetch A Friend Rescue and you cannot keep the pet for any reason, you must return the animal to Fetch A Friend Rescue. There is no guarantee that because you apply for the dog that you are going to adopt that dog. We seriously consider all applications but if we should suggest another dog for your home, it is because we truly know these dogs and possibly there is another dog that is a better fit. We strive for as best of a match as possible. Proper placement takes into consideration many things, including size, male/female, activity level, children and ages of the children, fencing or lack of, amount of time dog will spend home alone, and many other considerations. When a dog is posted we may receive up to 20 applications in a matter of hours. You will receive an email if selected to come and meet this dog.

ABOUT ME!: Adorable brindle boy Gus is the sweetest boy who just wants to please his people and play with all of the dogs he can! Poor Gus has been waiting one year for his forever family. He has really blossomed here into a super social dog who loves daycare and plays well with dogs of all sizes. He has never met another dog he didn't like! He is definitely a friend to all and even does well with cats! Gus is seeking an active dog owner who understands how much exercise and daily enrichment a young athletic dog requires. This guy does not want to sit home alone all day being bored. Gus wants to be out on hikes, going to daycare, and getting his daily mental enrichment treats and toys. He unfortunately was not getting these things in his home and was chewing things he should not have. Gus absolutely needs to be crated when he is home alone for his own safety. He is perfectly content in his crate with his durable toys and does great. He would also be happy to be at doggy daycare during the week as well!
Gus is housebroken, incredibly loveable, and more than ready for the right family to come along! He loves women most and is pretty terrified of men. He will instantly approach any female with zero hesitation! He will not go anywhere near men and is extremely terrified of them. He is never aggressive towards them, and can handle being seen by one at the vet etc. He just simply does not ever warm up to them to ever become comfortable being around them. He will need a female owner with no men in the home for his ultimate comfort and happiness. He is a sensitive soul who will cower when a voice is raised. Gus just wants stability, routine, belly rubs, kisses, and doggy friends to be happy! Gus is neutered, heart worm negative, current on all vaccinations, microchipped, and on parasite prevention.

ABOUT ME: Poutine is an absolutely beautiful girl with the most gorgeous coat and eyes! This sweet girl was roaming the streets without an owner and made her way into someone's fenced yard. She decided that is where she wanted to stay and was playing in the back yard with that family's dogs and even wandered right into the home and was playing with them and their toys. The family sadly could not add her to their family so she was sent to animal control to wait for her family who never came. No one ever came for her and she was transferred to us to find a new forever family. Poutine is an incredibly sweet girl who makes friends with any dog that she meets! Big or small she is great with them all! She loves going to doggy daycare and making new friends each day! Poutine loves to chase a ball in the yard, go for walks, and get lots of belly rubs! She is a large dog who needs to gain about 10 more pounds. She walks wonderfully on just a harness and will not drag you down the street. Poutine would love to find a family that will keep her active and love her lots!
Poutine is spayed, current on vaccinations, heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, and on parasite prevention.

ABOUT ME!: Adorable Paulie is an incredibly happy young man who has essentially grown up in a shelter. Despite never having a home and originally being found as a young pup on the side of the road Paulie is full of love and happiness. He literally loves everyone he meets, is great with all dogs and even cats! Paulie loves going for long walks and has had great success with recall. He has learned some basic commands and just needs a family to help him learn new things and burn off that puppy energy! He would love a home with another dog and has gotten along with dogs of all sizes. He enjoys doggy daycare very much, loves to play fetch and will also entertain himself with his toys too! He is still just a pup and will need to be crated when home unsupervised until he learns the rules and boundaries and potty routines. Paulie will absolutely make a fun companion to any family wanting a happy, friendly young pup in their life!
Paulie is neutered, current on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, and on parasite prevention.

ABOUT ME!: Poor Lightning was found as a stray on one of the coldest days of the year, laying on the side of the road with frozen paws! He was taken to animal control where his owner was eventually found but said he did not want him back. He had spent his life chained up in their backyard anyways, so they had no use for him to return. Lightning as a result has not had much chance to be a dog. He is an incredibly sweet and cuddly dog who cannot get enough love and attention. He had no prior vetting coming to rescue and is now neutered. He may mark initially when getting used to a new environment but he always keeps a very clean kennel no matter how long he is in it! Lightning would thrive in an active home who will enrich his life and keep him well exercised. He is loving going for walks with volunteers and learning how to do normal dog things outside of life on a chain.
Lightning is neutered, current on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, and on parasite prevention.

ABOUT ME!: Adorable little Patrick is just the cutest pup with oh so much personality! He may look big in photos but he is just a tiny little guy! This cutie was found as a stray in Auburn wandering around an apartment complex. He had sores all over his legs and feet and found himself at dog control. No owner ever came looking for him so he was transferred to us to find his perfect family. Patrick is deaf and also has a minor neurological issue that causes him to walk in circles at times. Not constantly, just here and there and his head bobbles a bit! Our vet said he is perfectly happy and healthy, and it causes him no issues. Patrick loves food and toys! His two favorite things! He also loves long walks with our volunteers and will need a home that will provide him with daily exercise! He is housebroken with consistency but will need an established routine in a new home. Patrick loves chewing on toys, chasing a ball in the yard, and enrichment toys. Patrick is the happiest little boy around and does not let his disabilities slow him down. He sticks close to you outside and is easy to train as he is so incredibly food motivated.
Patrick is neutered, current on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, and on parasite prevention.

ABOUT ME!: Adorable pint sized Lola came to us as an owner surrender. Her family brought her home as a young puppy but did not have the time or patience for a puppy. She was alone most of the day in a crate and therefore was given up when they said they could not potty train her. Lola will obviously need a home with patience and a clear routine that gives her exercise and the training she needs to be her best self. Lola is going to be a pretty small girl when full grown, she is very petite and has barely grown since arriving. She makes friends with every dog she meets, is learning her basic commands, enjoys long walks, and absolutely loves doggy daycare and playing in the pools. She is an incredibly cuddly girl who wants to be close her person and is a total lap dog. She loves being in a chair or on the couch! Lola would do best in a home where someone is home often or where she can go to doggy daycare regularly. Growing up being alone all the time has made her want to be with people. She is crate trained but will need regular training to help with potty training. She would not thrive currently being alone for 8 hours in a crate.
Lola is spayed, current on all vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, and on parasite prevention.

ABOUT ME!: Billy and Penny came to us when their elderly owner passed away and there was no one to care for them. Don't let their age fool you! These two siblings can out run many young dogs and they LOVE to run and play! These two are so fully of energy and life and would do well in a home with other young dogs to play with! They are the sweetest duo and require a home together as they have never been apart in their life. They both think food is life and need to stay on a diet to prevent obesity which could be very easy with them! They would literally eat all day long if you let them of food was left out. It is very important for their joints that they remain on a healthy diet. They love going for long walks with our volunteers, and they can be barky when it comes to food time and needing to go out to potty. They likely would not make great apartment dogs as a result. They are potty pad trained and also go potty outdoors with a consistent routine as well. Anyone would be very lucky to bring home this wonderful sweet duo!
Billy and Penny are spayed and neutered, current on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, and on parasite prevention.
