Adoption Process:
If you see a dog you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application located here------> Adoption Application
Applications must be completed in full, partially filled out ones will not be considered. Applications will not be considered if you have not read the dogs bio in full and do not meet the requirements for that specific dog.
Once we receive the completed application we will contact your references. Once approved we will contact you to set up a visit with the dog(s).
****Please do not show up without a scheduled appointment or approved application. All dog viewing is by appointment only as we work other jobs as well.*****
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
-Primary applicants must be 21 or older and provide photo ID upon adoption
-Please read through a dogs entire bio before applying so you know that you fit the specific needs and requirements for that dogs new home,-Dogs living in the home currently that are over 8 months old must be spayed/neutered unless medically unable.-Please do not apply for a dog if you are unable to adopt within a week. We are unable to hold dogs due to our small size. Dogs coming into us are coming from local shelters that are euthanizing for space so holding a dog for an extended period does not allow another dog to be saved.
Animals may not be adopted as a "gift" for someone unless all family members are aware of the adoption and meet the animal before the adoption takes place
Dogs must not be left crated for more than 8 hours.
If you have a current pet, they must be up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered. This includes cats. Dogs must have annual vet exams.
If renting, approval from the landlord is required to keep the dog on the premises. If you have a current dog, your pet must meet the new pet before the adoption is finalized to make sure they will be compatible to live together. You will bring your dog to our facility for the meet. We cannot travel to you.If you adopt from Fetch A Friend Rescue and you cannot keep the pet for any reason, you must return the animal to Fetch A Friend Rescue. There is no guarantee that because you apply for the dog that you are going to adopt that dog. We seriously consider all applications but if we should suggest another dog for your home, it is because we truly know these dogs and possibly there is another dog that is a better fit. We strive for as best of a match as possible. Proper placement takes into consideration many things, including size, male/female, activity level, children and ages of the children, fencing or lack of, amount of time dog will spend home alone, and many other considerations. When a dog is posted we may receive up to 50 applications in a matter of hours. You will receive an email if selected to come and meet this dog.

ABOUT: Petey is the cutest, derpiest, silliest boy you will ever meet. He is so fun and quirky and will always keep you smiling! He makes the funniest faces and likes to have conversations with you when you ask him questions. Poor Petey was constantly left to roam the streets alone and unvetted. He had a horrible flea allergy when he was found and his back end was just raw. He has since fully healed and has been neutered and received all vet care. He is ready to find a caring family that will let him live indoors and be spoiled. He is a super high energy boy looking for a home preferably rural rather than busy streets and city living with a large yard to run and play in. He will definitely benefit from obedience training and an experienced dog owner who will continue his training. He is the best boy who is totally house broken, loves having a big cozy bed with lots of toys- and does not chew up anything! He loves going for long walks with our volunteers and wearing sweaters when it is cold. Petey is now neutered, heart worm negative, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and current on his parasite preventions.

ABOUT ME!: Chip came to us as a stray from Cayuga County when he was just 5 months old. He was found wandering the streets and no one claimed him. He spent some time at animal control waiting but his family never came. Chip was transferred to us to find a new family who will never abandon him again. He is very nervous when meeting most new people. He warms up quicker with another dog around, lots of yummy treats(I love cheese!!), patience and letting him come to you. He is not in any way aggressive, would never bite or growl etc, he is just very shy in new situations and wants to hide from new people.
He is looking for a confident dog experienced owner to help him get through this. He works with our trainer daily and has made great strides gaining confidence! He will need to continue with positive reinforcement training as negative would set him completely back in all that he has learned. He should never wear an e-collar or prong collar. He walks wonderfully on a harness, keeps a very clean kennel with no accidents. He LOVES to play fetch! His favorite thing is chasing a ball, getting endless love and cuddles from those he knows, jumping in the pools, and loves chewing on his nylabones!
Chip is a very sweet boy looking for a family to give him a chance.
I am neutered, heart worm negative, microchipped, current on vaccinations and parasite preventions!

Taco loves to play with other dogs, go for long walks and car rides, and seeking a very active home to keep up with him and keep him well exercised. He would be a great running partner and it will help get that energy out!
He has all of the traits of a Boxer and plays like one too! He will need some basic training on his Boxer jumping but has learned how to sit and stay so far! Taco has not been destructive at all but is still very much a puppy and should be crated when home alone to start.

ABOUT ME!: Eddie is a sweet, quiet, well-mannered little man looking for a family! He came to us with his sibling who have all since been adopted. Eddie is now neutered and fully vetted!
We have no idea what their dad was so we have no idea how big they will grow to be. Their mom was 55 pounds and a Boxer mix, but we have no way of guessing their size when full grown. He is small for 5 months so it is likely he will not be huge at all. Eddie has never barked, loves playing in doggy daycare and is much more confident with other dogs around. He would benefit greatly from a canine sibling who loves to play and would love to find a home that will take him to daycare. He is a super smart boy who will make a family very happy!
Eddie is neutered, current on all vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and current on parasite preventions! His adoption comes with a bag of his food, new bed, and lots of great goodies!

ABOUT ME: Sweet Paisley came to us from a local hoarding situation. She was living in a house among 30 plus little dogs. They were never let outside or ever left the house prior to being rescued. They were all just so scared and shut down. Paisley was only 8 weeks old when she was rescued, and she is really loving life these days! She would really love a sibling in her home who loves to play as much as she does but would not do well with another bossy female in the home. She is a very active little girl who wants to run, run run! She is seeking an active home for sure. She really loves her cuddle time and loves to be held and snuggled. She would love to sleep in bed with her owners as well right under the covers as close as she can get! Paisley is working on her potty training and will need to establish a routine in a home environment once she is adopted. She is still learning how to walk on a leash and is learning each day. She is very food motivated and eager to learn new things!

ABOUT ME!: Trisha came to us from a hoarding situation where she was living among 30+ other dogs. Trisha had just given birth to four babies right before we rescued her. She has since weaned her babies and has now been spayed and is ready for a family of her own. Trisha was a very protective mama and only trusted a small circle of people to care for her and them. She spent her time in the house locked in a crate after she got pregnant and was understandably frustrated. She has been working with our trainer on learning how to trust. She bonds quickly to her people and is very loyal and devoted to them. Typical to her Chihuahua breed she will need a home that understands the breeds and their quirks. She would do best in a quiet home without children and a lot of foot traffic in and out. She adores her people and loves to be cuddled and in their lap any chance she can get. She gets along very well with other small dogs and plays well in doggy daycare with them. She is doing well with learning a house training routine but will need to learn a routine in a new home and what is expected of her.

ABOUT ME!: Handsome Echo came to us from South Carolina where he and another male dog were left overnight in the shelter's intake pen. Echo is a super sweet boy who just loves every human he meets. he loves to play, loves belly rubs, is super smart, walks great on a leash, loves to do agility, and is completely housebroken! Echo loves car rides, going to the dog park, eating snacks, and long naps. Echo is totally deaf- so he will need a home with patience and time to train. He knows hand signals and always checks in with his people for guidance of what to do next, He would do best in a rural environment rather than city living. Echo may be deaf but he has adapted to it so very well. So well in fact that the shelter he came to us from had no idea he even was! Echo would do best with 1-2 owners and not a chaotic busy family with a lot of foot traffic. Like most deaf dogs he startles easily if a child jumps on him when he is sleeping and may growl out of fear. He has never been aggressive in any manner to anyone but will let you know when he doesn't like to be startled quickly from a dead sleep. He absolutely loves is snuggle time though and loves to be pet. He is just a super happy boy who shouldn't be overlooked just for being deaf.
He is extremely food motivated and learns things very quickly for treats and positive reinforced training.
He is neutered, heart worm negative, microchipped, current on vaccinations and parasite preventions!
