Fetch A Friend Rescue

Adoption Process:

If you see a dog you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application located here------> Adoption Application

Applications must be completed in full, partially filled out ones will not be considered. Once we receive the completed application we will contact your references. Once approved we will contact you to set up a visit with the dog(s). Please do not show up without a scheduled appointment or approved application. All dog viewing is by appointment only as we work other jobs as well.

-Primary applicants must be 21 or older and provide photo ID upon adoption

-Please read through a dogs entire bio before applying so you know that you fit the specific needs and requirements for that dogs new home,

-Dogs in the home currently over 8 months old must be spayed/neutered.

-Please do not apply for a dog if you are unable to adopt it soon. We are unable to hold dogs due to our small size. Dogs coming into us are coming from local shelters that are euthanizing for space so holding a dog for an extended period does not allow another dog to be saved.

ABOUT: Earl is looking for a special home that he can spend the rest of his days in. Earl was an abuse case who was starved and abused. His owner was prosecuted, and Earl waited in a shelter for a few months until the case was over with. We agreed to pull Earl into our rescue and upon transfer at the vet it was discovered that Earl has dermal hermangiosacoma (skin cancer). It is a quick spreading disease and Earl may have a 1-3 year survival window. We would like to see Earl in a loving forever home for the rest of his time as he is a sweet loving boy who has never experienced a loving home. There is no adoption fee for Earl, however a vet reference is required so that we know he will be cared for until his time comes. Earl does well with larger dogs (50+ pounds) but is not good with cats/ small animals as he has a high prey drive). He loves to go for long walks and car rides, and sure loves to eat!

Earl is neutered, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations and parasite prevention's.

ABOUT: Sweet beefcake Simba came to us as an abuse case from Syracuse. He was living in a plywood box outdoors with 4 other male dogs and among live stock and other animals. One day Simba managed to get his head stuck partially out of the box, and a dog was loose on the outside and grabbed a hold of Simba tearing open parts of his face! Thankfully a neighbor heard what was happening and alerted the police who came and removed all of the animals. Simba's face was treated and his wounds have since healed. Simba is now looking for the perfect home he so deserves. He is a rather lazy dog who prefers a good nap over just about anything else. He can literally sleep through anything and nothing phases him. Simba is great with other dogs but does not care to share his toys with them, and therefore will need to be the only pup in your home. He would do fine living with a cat though. He absolutely loves toys and will play fetch too. He loves to cuddle with his humans on the couch, and although he is not much of a barker he does let out an occasional "Moo" when he is excited. Simba is totally housebroken and crate trained although it is not likely needed in his new home. Simba requires a home with a fenced yard(not invisible fence).

Simba loves to meet kids but would do best with older ones that would not climb all over him while he is sleeping. He really enjoys his naps! Simba is a sweet sensitive boy who deserves to be loved and spoiled for the rest of his life.

Simba is neutered, micro chipped, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations and parasite prevention's.

ABOUT: Adorable Audrey is the sweetest, happiest little girl who loves everyone she meets. She arrived to us with her mother (Ellen) and father (Clark) who has been adopted. Audrey and her family were unbelieveably dumped in a dumpster at a shelter overnight in South Carolina. Audrey arrived with a large wound down the span of her back that can't heal on its own due to the extent of it. She recently had surgery to close and repair the wound.

Despite her awful past, Audrey thinks everyone and everything is great. Her favorite thing ever is having a bed, a plethora of stuffed toys and nylabones to play with. Audrey is the best girl with the cutest underbite and beautiful brindle coat. She enjoys going for walks, car rides, and loves to play with other dogs.

Audrey is spayed, micro chipped, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations and parasite prevention's.

ABOUT: Gorgeous Caroline comes to us as an unclaimed stray roaming the streets in the city of Syracuse. Caroline was transferred to us when no one came looking for her. This silly girl is full of antics, loves belly rubs, rolling on her back in the grass, going for walks and car rides, and absolutely loves toys more than anything in the world. She loves to play fetch and is perfectly content to hang out with a kong or an antler to chew on. Caroline is a mellow girl who is totally housebroken, crate trained, and content to just hang out on the couch with her people. Caroline is not too fond of other animals in her personal space but is fine passing by other dogs on walks and outings. Caroline is an adorable spunky girl who will make her new family laugh every day.
Caroline is spayed, micro chipped, current on vaccinations and parasite prevention's.

ABOUT: Sweet Dakota is looking for a new and better start to his young life. He was adopted from an area shelter at 9 weeks old, and then went to live outdoors in a cage for 14 hours a day. He sat in the rain, and heat without food or water until a concerned citizen helped him and got him transferred to our care. Dakota is a very smart boy who learns things quickly and is very food motivated. He knows how to sit, shake and lay down. He is crate trained and house trained and knows how to use a doggy door on his own. Dakota has lived with cats and kittens and has no issues with small animals and enjoys playing with other dogs. He has been around young kids as well but was not treated very nicely by them.

ABOUT: Frieda is looking for a special home as she is a special girl. Frieda comes to us as a stray from the city of Syracuse and appears to be the result of very poor breeding to make a designer dog. She has a crooked jaw and oddly shaped body but it does not slow her down. She has had a few litters herself somehow and will soon be spayed. Frieda is a very short, sturdy compact girl looking for a quiet home without any children. She does not enjoy being carried around and likes to do her own thing. Frieda is a quiet girl who enjoys napping and cuddling, she is slowly coming out of her shell. Frieda does well with other dogs but would not do well with a young dog that will jump all over and try to wrestle with her. Frieda is doing well with housebreaking and is also crate trained. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard or fenced area for her as she does not care for long walks.

Frieda will be spayed on 8/23, is current on all vaccines, heart worm negative, de wormed, micro chipped and current on parasite preventions.
